If you were free to settle in any location and were looking for financial advantage plus a great lifestyle, where would you go? What location has the ideal combination of high salaries, low taxes, low hardship and high social benefits?

To answer these questions AIRINC has created the Talent Attractiveness Index (working title) to evaluate and compare the attractiveness of 150 global locations according to weighted combination of financial and lifestyle metrics. This ranking evaluates how attractive a location is to potential employees, and employers.

The financial metrics are based on salary levels, tax rates and costs using AIRINC tools and tax models. The lifestyle metrics are based on an 'ideal' hardship score.

While there are many rankings out there on the best place to live this ranking is different in that it:
  • Has a global scope
  • A city level granularity
  • A combination of financial and lifestyle factors
  • Not based on survey respondents but instead utilizes AIRINC research
If you are interested in publishing this ranking/story or would like to learn more, please let me know.

Thank you,
Michelle Curran

PRESS RELEASE: Iran hosts first International Travel and Hospitality Conference as government seeks to boost investment in infrastructure for tourism

PRESS RELEASE: Iran hosts first International Travel and Hospitality Conference as government seeks to boost investment in infrastructure for tourism

ISFAHAN, 24 February 2016 - More than 200 Iranian government officials gathered in Isfahan between 20-22 February for the country's first international conference aiming at public-private exchange to boost investment in transport and hospitality to satisfy an expected massive rise in tourism over the coming years.

"As Iran seeks to lower its economic dependence on oil, exploiting the incredible potential of tourism becomes a must," said Ahmad Reza Nikkar Esfahani, CEO of Atiyeh Saba Investment Company, a subsidiary of the Civil Servants Pension Fund (CSPF), organizer of the conference. "This conference is a new chapter in training and upgrading the tourism, transportation and hospitality industries," he added.

Atiyeh Saba owns the third largest Iranian airline, Iran Aseman Airlines and, among other business interests, has a controlling stake in the country's largest hotel chain as well as the National Iranian Tanker Company, one of the largest petroleum companies in the world.
Deals announced at the conference included a memorandum of understanding between the renowned Swiss hospitality school Ecole hotelière de Lausanne and Atiyeh Saba to open a campus affiliated to the famous Swiss school in Isfahan.

Mahmoud Eslamiyan, Managing Director of the CSPF said that: "Opening what we aim to be a center of excellence demonstrates our commitment to provide a first-class academic education and open a new chapter in the hospitality industry not only in Iran but also in the region."

Rotana Hotel group's President Omer Z. Kaddouri presented further development plans in Iran. The UAE-based company is set to open four hotels in Iran within next two years.

Opportunities to develop sustainable inner-city and outer-city transports were also discussed at the conference, including plans for hybrid car systems. Isfahan's Governor General Rasoul Zargarpour noted that an anticipated high-speed rail link between Tehran and Isfahan would cut travel time between the cities to less than two hours.

With the thaw in relations, the number of European tourists to Iran increased 240 percent in 2015 and with the country's inclusion on recent "must visit" shortlists (coming in 16th on the CNN's top tourism destinations for 2016 for instance) the trend is set to continue. Host to 19 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Iran aims to quadruple the number of foreign tourists visiting the country to 20 million a year by 2025, bringing the value of the industry to £21 billion. For this though, significant investments are needed in infrastructure, notably hotels and transport. Currently, Iran has only 1100 hotels and guest houses – of which 130 are 4 or 5 star hotels. Iran seeks to increase the number of four and five star hotels from 130 to 400 in 10 years, and has announced plans to build 7 new international airports over the next decade.

Over the last month, Iran has signed major deals for foreign investment in hotels, airports, aircraft and rail – notably with companies in France, Italy and China. The government has also unveiled an internal investment package of 1300 projects and low-interest loans to finance the building of hotels.

Lightweight Containers launches 10-liter one-way keg

PRESS RELEASE
New KeyKeg Slimline ready for new markets

Lightweight Containers launches 10-liter one-way keg

Den Helder/ Nurnberg, November 12, 2015. Lightweight Containers has launched its newest KeyKeg. This latest addition to the family, the KeyKeg 10 Slimline, holds 10 liters, thereby helping to meet the growing demand for smaller-volume kegs. Lightweight Containers expects that the keg’s 10-liter size will make it well suited for premium wines, beers, and specialty drinks. The KeyKeg 10 Slimline also has just what it takes to be attractive in the catering market.

The latest addition to the Slimline family offers the full range of KeyKeg technologies. The Bag-in-Ball™ technology keeps beverages good for weeks after tapping. The Double-Wall™ technology keeps the KeyKeg even safer; it can withstand higher pressures than most kegs and is highly stable in storage and transport. If desired, the KeyKeg can be delivered with either a newly designed carrier handle, or the familiar grip. Lightweight Containers has managed to limit the keg’s weight to just 0.82 kg. Its diameter is 240 mm and its height is 330 mm.

Total supply chain
“Our new KeyKeg was developed entirely in line with the latest demands from the market”, says Jan Veenendaal, CEO of Lightweight Containers: “We have thousands of customers in the beverage industry worldwide. Every day we talk with other parties in the supply chain as well, from beverage distributors to bars and restaurants. We want to know what is going on with them too. KeyKeg is important for their success, and our success is only guaranteed if all these parties are satisfied. Their feedback told us that the time is ripe for a 10-liter KeyKeg. This KeyKeg will also give our customers more growth opportunities.”

New markets
Its smaller volume combined with the Bag-in-Ball™ technology also makes the KeyKeg 10 Slimline extremely well suited to the catering market. Chief Commercial Officer Anita Veenendaal says, “We’re expecting that the new KeyKeg will be a popular choice for premium beers and wines, as well as specialty beverages, and RTD beverages.”

The small 10-liter KeyKeg is also attractive for consumers. It is very simple to tap using a hand pump or portable dispensing installation. Another unique advantage of the KeyKeg is that it can be dispensed using air so there is no need for a complicated installation of CO2 bottles or cylinders. Beverages stay good for weeks after tapping so there’s no need to throw away what’s left after the party is over. The beverage in a KeyKeg can also be cooled – a normal refrigerator and a hand pump are all that’s needed. This new KeyKeg will help our customers continue to conquer the premium-beverage and catering markets.

Production
The new KeyKeg can be produced on any Slimline production line. Lightweight Containers will start production in Q1 2016. The first KeyKeg 10 Slimlines will be made in the Netherlands. Lightweight Containers will build a new Slimline production facility in France in 2016.

Brightlands challenge at the World Expo Milan

PRESS RELEASE

16 September 2015

Brightlands Challenge at World Expo Milan

The internationally focused Province of Limburg will be represented at World Expo Milan 2015 as a participant in the Dutch pavilion.
Here it will promote the Brightlands campuses as European economic hotspots in the field of materials, food, health and smart services. This is the first time the four campuses have been represented together at an international event. A Brightlands Challenge will take place on 23 September.

The 34th World Expo exhibition, which runs from 1 May until 31 October 2015, is expected to attract 30 million visitors to Milan. More than 140 countries, including the Netherlands, are taking part.
The Province of Limburg has been given the opportunity to participate in the Dutch pavilion. The World Expo is a unique opportunity to introduce an international audience to the Brightlands campuses in Sittard-Geleen, Maastricht, Venlo and Heerlen. And, at the same time, Limburg's unique location, sharing borders with Germany and Belgium, will be highlighted. Their location makes Limburgers effective partners in cross-border collaborations.

Twan Beurskens, Regional Minister of Economic Affairs for the Province of Limburg: 'We are taking the opportunity to present Limburg at this World Expo. It's important for the world to know what we have to offer. In the field of knowledge and manufacturing we are one of the most innovative regions in western Europe. International reputation
Bert Kip, CEO of Brightlands Chemelot Campus: 'We've being working together under the name Brightlands for a year now, and the name is already well known in the region. Jan Kees Dunning, CEO of Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus: 'We present Brightlands to World Expo visitors in a number of different ways. Our stand symbolises our motto, "Knowledge Crossing Borders’", through a school bus, which was converted in no time at all into an attractive information point and place to meet.'

Frans van Leijden, CEO of Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo: 'We also offer a programme which focuses on a number of Brightlands' areas of expertise. And we show Limburgers how they can use the Expo as a platform for their activities. The Expo also offers a good opportunity to talk to new target groups and to tell them directly what's happening on the Brightlands campuses.'

Peter Verkoulen, CEO of Brightlands Smart Services Campus: 'We are the newest Brightlands campus. Our aim is to develop smart services which allow companies to use ground-breaking innovative techniques to respond the challenges facing our planet. During the Brightlands Challenge at the World Expo in Milan we're keen to explore further how we can use the knowledge we have on our campus in the field of sustainability and health, in conjunction with specialists in the field of materials, health and food.'

Brightlands Challenge on 23 September
In Milan, the province and the campuses will arrange meetings between international academics and businesses around a wide range of subjects related to the theme of the World Expo, Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.
